In the world of weddings, one of the most important vendors is the florist. For years, florists have made weddings so elegant, imeldific and have made thousands of brides look lovelier with their bouquets. What would a wedding be like without flowers?

If you are one of the couples who’s on a tight budget, don’t fret because along the stretch of Dos Castillas, also known as Dangwa, you will find one of the most famous florists in the Metro. Meet Boy Mahusay! Don’t be fearful of this man because underneath that thug-looking-tattooed man is a sweet and funny guy! Together with his partner Kuya Jon, they make the loveliest bouquets at an affordable price without sacrificing quality and quantity, of course.

If you’d like to see your own bouquet before the wedding, You can ask for a mock bouquet… a couple of Casablancas, blue ecuador roses and tulips would cost Php 2000 for a mock bouquet. Mang Boy wouldn’t recommend that of course because he thinks its a waste of money :D but if you insist, he’d gladly make you one.

What do brides say about Boy Mahusay:

“We are so happy with the flowers Mang Boy made for
us. My bouquet (red ecuadorian roses with hypericum berries) lasted for quite a
while before it wilted. Love, love, love my bouquet! And we really thank him for
putting much effort in coming up with golden-coppery pails for the flower girls.
In terms of delivery, Mang Boy was there in our hotel just in time. We also got
him to make a flower arrangement for our table. He didn’t follow what we wanted,
but all the same, it looked really nice. Now we can say that looks (he doesn’t
really look like a florist hahaha!) and price (really cheap) can be deceiving,
for the outcome was really wonderful!”–Van Santiago

“Ganda ng bouquet ko….ganda ng roses ni mang boy panalo….natakot lang
ako nung una kasi yung gnamit nyang pangtali sa mga roses e red na
tela ayun humahawa s kamay pero pinabalutan ko ng tissue para matuyo
agad….takot ako white pa naman gown ng mga abays ko….pero ok naman
nung 1pm na natuyo na sya d na humahawa…”–Lea Landicho

“Mang Boy was easy to talk to, and his arrangements were nice. Simple
and clean.”– Jean

“Like I’ve been saying, we didn’t care much of the variety of flowers
used for us. We just wanted the church pretty and the price
reasonable. Mang Boy gave us just that. The flowers he brought to
the hotel were gorgeous and he did everything I asked of him – even my
bouquet with was divided into two sets so that I could place one at
the crypt of my dad and the other at the crypt of my grandparents.
Galing talaga ni Mang Boy!”–pittipat

“We visited him a couple of months ago for a mock-up and we were impressed that he was able to ‘copy’ it right then and there. He looks like the ‘contrabida’ type but make no mistake, he’ll be forever a hero in our hearts.
Come the wedding day, it seems there was a miscommunication regarding the flowers for the VIP. Mang Boy taught all along that he’s just going to do the reception tables, while I taught all along he’ll be doing the reception and VIP tables. In short, Mang Boy didn’t bring flowers for the VIP table. Now the ‘hero’ part. He could have easily said, “ay mam sorry pero wala naman sa pinag-usapan na pati VIP table akin”. But NO! Mang Boy WENT BACK TO DANGWA!!!!!! He was already at Edsa Shang setting up the flowers for the 18 round tables…. But still he went back to Dangwa to get flowers for the VIP table!!!! That speaks a lot about this guy. And we will be forever grateful to him. And can I just add – my bouquet lasted for a week!” –Con Versoza
