Chapel on the Hill

The Chapel on the Hill is unique and has a coze ambiance. It has a circular floor plan and is so calming not only because of its location but also because of what you see around when inside the chapel. It has a 360-degree view of the surroundings through its glass walls (and windows). The view is so lovely and the place is so solemn.

The chapel has a circular pattern on the floor which is called the Labyrinth. As explained in the entrance of the chapel, “the labyrinth is a sacred circle with a single path that leads to its center. Walking the path lends itself to prayer and meditation. This kinesthetic style of prayer is especially valuable during those times when words cannot express the depths of heights of our experience”.

Things to Prepare and Remember

  1. As of posting time, the price is PHP15,000
  2. No throwing of rice or confetti inside the chapel
  3. You have to provide your own priest, choir and flowers
  4. Marriage License
  5. Baptismal and Confirmation Certificates
  6. Certificate of Attendance (2 Sessions) of Pre-Cana Seminar at any Parish
  7. Canonical Interview with Msgr. Bongaling
  8. Marriage Banns
  9. Name and License No. of Officiating Priest
  10. Names of Principal Sponsors
  11. Chapel’s capacity is around 100 guests

How to Get There

From Tagaytay, take the way going to Nasugbu, Batangas. Turn left at the entrance of the Evercrest Hotel and Resort (after Petron Station). You won’t miss this hotel as it has a huge entrance gate. Chapel on the Hill is located about a kilometer from the entrance. Just ask the guards for directions but it is located on the left side. It shares the same main gate entrance with Calaruega Church, the hotel and Don Bosco.

  2. J. Paulo Rodriguez says:

    Greetings!

We intend to marry by October 2010. Would like to know to whom can we get in touch to regarding the rate the church charges as well as other pertinent information for booking of a wedding? is there also an area within the church grounds for a possible reception? as we intend to have the ceremony and reception in one venue for efficiency.

I can be reached through the following: jpdrodriguez[at]gmail[dot]com or (0928) 504.7093

    Thank you!

bakit bawal ang flowers, Ring Bearer, Flower Girl sa Wedding during Lenten Season? what i mean before mag Holy Week… i'd just read this in a forum, nakaka upset naman lalo na sa ikakasal, hindi kumpleto ang kasal pag walang Flowers sa simbahan, or Flower Girl, Ring Bearer, sana naman bago kayo mag OK ng deal sa Couple about Wedding date,
sabihin nyo na agad agad na bawal, almost a year na sila nag pa reserved sa Chapel in the Hill, then right away sasabihin nila na bawal ang mga ganon kasi nasa Lenten Season…

    • Cll says:

Kahit magpasched ka. Not all the time andun yung pari. You really have to wait for him. Goodluck

    • Cll says:

Its 15000 walang kahit na anong kasama dun. Sakit lang sa ulo. Because walng magaassist sa wedding day na matino. But if you really want to get married there make sure that you will bring your own choir and especially your own priest.

I won’t recommend Chapel on the Hill..it is really a nice place for a wedding, but if Fr. Milo Malabuyoc will preside the event, you’d rather not consider it.. The Wedding schedule is 2 to 3 pm as we agreed by Chapel on the Hill..I think Fr. Milo is the Diocesan priest there in Nasugbu, we went to His office twice (coming from Bulacan) but he never showed up, because we wanted him to check the misalette, and I even emailed the soft copy to Chapel on the Hill, but then they never replied…Wedding day: My guests arrived at 1:30pm..I arrived on the chapel at 1:45..Fr. Milo did not allow my entourage to walk down the aisle..and He did not even allow me to walk with my parents..(sabi pa nya, pag 2pm na at wala pa..wala ng wedding— how rude)..malamang 2 pm kami darating..2pm ang sched na binayaran ko at binigay nyo samin e. It was my moment that Fr. Milo did not even realized how important it was for me, for my family and friends..Take note..we paid chapel on the hillat 15,000. 2500 for Fr. Milo and 3000 for the choir (na wala naman masyadong kinanta..kahit na nung naglakad ako). Next time don’t be so rude, kung may lakad kayo at nagmamadali kayo and you need to leave the Chapel earlier, sana nagbigay na lang kayo ng ibang pari na pwede..because we spent alot of money and time for that para ganunin mo lang. so INCONSIDERATE OF YOU..maiintindihan ko sana kung entourage ang di mo palakarin, fine! or kung may next wedding or mass..wala naman..pero sana naman po naisip nyo na imporatante yun sakin.. I just asked the Lord to make me feel better during those times.. Bad si Father..sorry pero alot of people there noticed what he did..pati choir pinapagalitan..haaayyy..next time.alamin ang sched ni father..

Agree…I was part of her entourage. It’s okay that we’re not able to march but the fact that the priest/or who ever is in charge didn’t allow her to walk down the aisle with her parents is really upsetting. :( super inconsiderate!!!!! Their family and friends came all the way from various places(Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Isabela, Manila, Singapore, her parents even flew from the US) to witness this beautiful occasion but Fr. Malabuyoc and the staff of Chapel on the Hill had to ruin it.

They should have informed the couple of their rules before hand…so that they were made aware. As far as we all know when you say that the wedding is at 2pm…it will start at 2pm and that includes the processional.

  15. Cll says:

I agree.. They were so inconsiderate. Lahat sila

I am looking for a chuch to get married in also, and recently I went to both Chapel on the Hill and Caleruega to inquire. I read negative comments about Chapel on the Hill on this blog so I was a bit apprehensive, but I discovered that the management of Chapel on the Hill has changed. The new priest in charge is named Fr. Ernie Cruz and he was extremely accommodating and helpful. He even served us amazingly good coffee that he brewed himself (my fiance had an expresso, I had a cappuccino hehe). The present staff of the chapel assured me that they are aware of all the negative feedback and if I wanted I could return the next Saturday and observe a wedding. Medyo O.C. ako so I actually went hehe. Fr. Ernie Cruz was the one officiating. The bride arrived late, but there was no fuss or tension, and the staff seemed very flexible. The ambiance was also very good, it was a clear day so there was an incredible view of the mountains outside the chapel windows. Hmmmm! Initially thought I was going to go with Caleruega but now I’m not so sure.

Hi Lily, wow thats great na nagpalit na sila ng management. Planning on booking Chapel on the Hill for my wedding too and got scared nung nabasa ko ung mga bad experiences nla!
hehe nice naman that you had a chat with the priest in charge.. do you have to book in person or pwedeng call lang for reservation? Can you tell me the contact num as we’ve been trying to call the number +6327435614 for a while now but no one answers. Thanks.

      • renato molina says:

        hi jean,
this is jen. thanks for the affirmation. it is true we do have lots of bad reviews before.; most because of people and things we can’t control (read: we depend on the parish and the parish priest there). as for those we can, we try to be responsive and proactive (read: we have a “new in charge” who’s popular and welcoming). come over jean and i can ask fr. ernie or any of the priests here to fix you a mean cup of espressio doppio. once again, thanks.

Pumunta din aku sa Chapel on the Hill parang ok naman sila. Kinasal kasi dun yung pinsan ko maganda naman, mabait pa yung mga tao dun. And yung fiancee ko foreigner, helpful nga sila they give me tips about yung requirements. Maraming paperwork pero di naman pala mahirap. Mabait yung secretary na kausap ko (Jenn? Jenny?). Di ko na-meet si Fr. Ernie pero pag bumalik ako irerequest ko siya baka maka-score din ako ng kape. Jejejejeje X)
