Chito Vecina has had nearly 25 years of experience as a photojournalist. A journalism graduate, he has worked for international news agencies, Reuters and Agence France Presse. He also worked for Hong Kong Standard in Hong Kong. His photographs have been published in Time, Newsweek, Asiaweek, New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle. He worked in major local dailies such as the Philippine Daily Express, Evening Post, Bulletin Today, Philippine Star and was a pioneer staff at the Philippine Daily Inquirer. He has won numerous awards such as the Photographer of the year and Picture of the year in 1994. He also won awards from 2 prestigious international competitions. He started out in sports and news photography and now specializes in fashion and interiors photography. He regularly contributes to the Llifestyle section of the Philippine daily Inquirer.
Chito Vecina brings the photojournalistic style to document your wedding as he would bring to cover an assignment for a leading newspaper and magazine. These “slices of life” photos create photographic essay that captures the true spirit of your special day. He has the eye to mix ordinary scenes to obtain and create the extraordinary photographs that other photographers never notice.
On the wedding day, Chito will be there to capture the preparations, ceremony and reception. Most importantly, he will capture the emotions – the excitement, the joy, the fun; not typically revealed in traditional posed wedding photographs.
Testimonials:
“Chito has this pretty distinct style that made him stand out from the rest of the photographers we’ve considered. The thing is, up to now, we can’t very much describe what it really is; we just know it’s Chito’s once we see it. Rather than the dramatic dark-&-shadows type, Chito’s is fresh, laid-back, simple and very real – and we love it.” — Noy & Ne
“Since we had a problem with booking our supposed photographer, we then settled for Sir Chito. My husband really liked Chito’s concepts and styles so we decided to get him. At first, I thought he’s so serious and very strict to the extent that you’ll get to hate him after the wedding. (Bad no!) Pero during the wedding itself, ok naman c Sir Chito. Even if tahimik cya ng konti, mega chika naman un crew nya kaya at ease pa rin kami. And you can see that all the ideas come from him. He instructs everyone which angle to take and even the lightings pinapakialamanan.
Happy din ako sa sample album nya (which I only get to see when I was already in the Phils.). Very organized and elegant. Di ko kz type un magugulong lay-out that you can’t see much of the picture because of its small size. Nun nakita ko un album, I know we made the perfect choice in Sir Chito. Un video naman, ok lang. The norm. Meron mga special effects and stuff, but then since it is least of my priorities, so ok na din.” –Kris & Arny
“We only got his service. Okay naman siya, a silent worker. Yung kasama niya, (gee I didn’t get his name) was the machika one. I got the pictures already and they were all lovely. Although there were some shots lang that he didn’t do, like sa grand staircase sa hotel. And we had to prod him pa to get some shots of us inside the Coconut Palace. But I’m generally happy we got him.
Value for money talaga siya.”– Rem & Tahl
