Joy San Gabriel is a pastry chef having completed the baking and pastry course from California Culinary Academy, San Francisco, California,USA. Even before her formal schooling, she found her calling in 1997 when she baked and created her first wedding cake for a friend. Since then, Joy had the honor of being a part of over a hundred celebrations be it weddings, debuts and birthdays as the cake maker of choice. Today, her passion lies in walking brides to be, debutantes and birthday celebrants through their ideas, apprehension and budget to make their dream cake a reality. In every step, she provides her insight on how to make the most practical and visually appealing cake at a price that makes everybody truly enjoy the celebration. Needless to say, the cake will not be a cake without the magic my kitchen helpers and she weaves to bring out the most unforgettable taste in every slice of cake.

Richel Mascarinas Wedding Photography

Richel Mascariñas began capturing perfect wedding images early on as a hobbyist while still studying Architecture at the University of Santo Tomas. Upon graduating in 1990, his wedding photography was relegated to weekend bookings while he worked in an architectural firm in Makati.

His practice became fulltime in 1994 when he decided to give his career to pursue his passion and he opened up his first studio (Heritage Home Video Productions) a year later. He has covered wedding rites and receptions in almost all Christian and Non-Christian churches in Metro Manila, in different provinces and abroad.

He is currently an officer of the biggest and most respected Wedding Photographer’s organization in the country, the Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP). He used to teach in college but gave it up and concentrated on teaching in seminars conducted by WPPP and SPPP(Society of Portrait Photographers of he Philippines) together with the country’s top portraitists, Ibarra Deri. He goes around the country giving lectures to wedding photographers and amateur photography clubs on the latest in digital technology. He also busy himself with invitations from different Universities and Colleges to give career talks on photography.

Richel’s passion for photography has made him one of the most sought after wedding photographers in the country and his expertise has been featured several times in TV programs, wedding magazines and major dailies.

The place was supposed to be Sonya’s private paradise, open only to family and friends and eventually, friends of friends. But after much prodding from all who have enjoyed the country living experience to share with more people what otherwise would have been her retirement lifestyle, she finally but reluctantly relented. In February of 1998, she opened the doors of her secret garden to the public in time for Valentine’s Day. From then on Sonya’s has been host to a bevy of visitors; the tourist from a far off land who looks beyond the beaten path; the balikbayan looking for a familiar sketch of a memory of home; burned-out city-dwellers seeking respite from the din of the city; and practically anybody who is looking for something different yet strangely familiar. Of course, as a wonderful haven of romance, love blooms in Sonya’s garden like flowers of an eternal spring. Many romantics have found it to be a popular spot to disarm, to court and to propose. Some have even returned to say, “I do.” And with that, Sonya’s Secret Garden earned the reputation of being the worst kept secret in Manila.
