Frederick Peralta was born in Iloilo. Before becoming a designer, Peralta worked as a newsboy, fish vendor, houseboy, tailor/designer for a jeans company and finally as an apprentice at Rex Centeno’s shop. In 1994, he won the Grand Prix at the Internationale Creatures de Jeunes de Mode (Young International Designers Competition) held in Paris, the first Filipino to win such a prestigious award. Aside from being one of Manila’s top fashion designer, Peralta also writes a weekly fashion column and hosts a radio program. He is included in High Fashion Around the World, the first time a Filipino designer is featured in an international fashion volume that will be translated into different languages. Peralta likes to inspire others through his work and at the same time, has a genuine desire to give something back to an industry that has been very good to him and to welcome young people who want to get into fashion.

Frederick Peralta gowns are known for it’s extra glamor. He believes in making the bride not only look sexy, but feel sexy on her wedding day by enhancing her figure. Frederick describes his style as somewhere between minimalist and exuberant ornamentation, but his most memorable gowns are always all about the embellishments. Frederick can work miracles with your gown within a limited amount of time. Once, because the bride decided she didn’t like the gown her original designer made, Frederick managed to pull off a wedding gown in 24 hours. But Frederick says that if you want your gown to be perfect, a lead time of six months to a year is best.
For bridal gowns, Frederick prefers Mikado silk and laces since they romanticize the gowns. Frederick’s style is very distinct and when it comes to wedding gowns, he prefers to recommend other designers rather than experiment with design. Wedding gowns start at an average of P50,000 for just the gown to around P150,000, which includes an entourage of eight people.
