Imagine waking up at 2:30 in the morning and driving off to some renowned hotel or venue or house or whatnot. Imagine blearily stepping into the shower and getting under buckets of pellets of cold water – not to mention the effort you’re going to put into the outfit you’re wearing, and the rest of your image for that matter, on behalf of presentation’s sake. Imagine looking out the window of your car and seeing the still–dark sky and quiet houses and deserted roads, and thinking to yourself how much you wanted just a little more time for slumber. Imagined enough? Well, for these two people that I’m going to talk about, it doesn’t stop at imagination.

In a classy hotel suite or in an ordinary bedroom, one can hear fizzing and hissing sounds resembling that of a spray paint’s. The reality isn’t quite far off. What’s really making the sound is the new Airbrush make–up applicator in the skillfull hands of Jeng Sy–Flores and Carlan Teng. This simply means that a wedding will be taking place in a matter of hours and the bride (and bridesmaids, depending on which package you might choose) is getting the makeover of her life. With steady hands and sharp eyes for detail, Jeng and Carlan will no doubt ensure it.

Their devotion to the artistry of make–up and cosmetics can be seen in the way they wholly give their time, energy and attention to all their clients. However, as stories most often go, the devotion didn’t come from a conventional beginning. Jeng and Carlan are both certified civil engineers, the former from the University of Santo Tomas, and the latter from the MAPUA Institute of Technology. Both initially wanted to study make–up artistry as more of a hobby than a true line of work, though they got separate minor gigs and events in the beginning. That was until the two of them met at the Center for Aesthetic Studies at the Franck Provost building. After becoming immediate friends, they planned, dealt, and finally established AND Visage make–up by Jeng Sy–Flores and Carlan Teng. Until recently, they’ve acquired an appreciable number of customers, from debutantes, brides, magazines, advertisements, and etcetera.

These two are truly making it as an indomitable duo – storming the make–up industry like crazy. It’s success after success, and they owe it to their professionalism, skill, originality, and talent.
