Graduated with a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising from De La Salle University’s College of St. Benilde, Bridal couturier Elizabeth Vy began living out her dream when she put up her own design shop and started to make a name for herself in the fashion industry. She studied in the Fashion Institute of the Philippines and Central Saint Martin’s London College of Fashion to gain experience and fulfill her dreams. In 1999, she was among the to 22 finalists at the Young Designers Competition.
Vy now caters to a wide range of clients and specializes in weddings, debuts, and proms. She also has ready-to-wear line of cocktail dresses for special events.
Her classic, elegant designs come from mixed style. Working closely with her client, she finds out what they want and browses around the inspiration, which really can come from anywhere – from the materials themselves and even from accessory pieces.
When asked why she does it, she mentions her childhood; how she’d always wanted to get into design and today, how fulfilling it is when her clients enjoy what they’re wearing.
